Kahne on Pole for Lipton Tea 250
Kasey Kahne put his Lipton Dodge on the pole for tonight's Lipton Tea 250 at Richmond International Raceway. His speed of 125.127 mph (21.578 sec.) was 0.139 mph faster than that posted by Carl Edwards in the #60 Save-a-Lot Ford. Edwards edged out local favorite Denny Hamlin (#20 Z-Line Designs Toyota). Mark Green (#70 ForeTravel Chevrolet) and Clint Bowyer (#2 BB&T Chevrolet) rounded out the top 5 starting positions. This is Kahne’s third career Nationwide Series pole at Richmond. "Hopefully it’s good again for the race tonight," commented Kahne at the Coors Light Pole Award ceremony. Fastest rookie starter is Landon Cassill (#5 National Guard Chevrolet) who will start 13th. The track record for the NASCAR Nationwide Series cars stands at 129.348 mph (20.874 sec.) set in May of 2004 by Kyle Busch. The green flag drops at 7:30 tonight, “Under the Lights.”
