Kyle Busch on pole for Emerson Radio 250
NASCAR Busch Series Track record-holder Kyle Busch drove his way to the pole position during WRIC TV-8 Pole qualifying this afternoon at Richmond International Raceway. Busch (21.361 sec., 126.399 mph), driving the #5 Sta-Green / Lowe's Chevrolet, beat out the #17 Arby's Ford of Matt Kenseth (21.381 sec., 126.280 mph). Starting third in tonight's Emerson Radio 250 is Jamie McMurray in the #26 Aflac Ford (21.388 sec., 126.239 mph). Ryan Newman will start his #12 Kodak Dodge from the outside of row two. Chesterfield, Virginia's Denny Hamlin will start his #20 Rockwell Automation Chevrolet from the inside of row three. 2007 NASCAR Busch Series point leader Carl Edwards (#60 Scotts Winterguard Ford) put his machine on the outside of row three. Kevin Harvick, defending Emerson Radio 250 and 2006 NASCAR Busch Series Champion was the fasterst car in Happy Hour and will start the race in 8th position. This is the third Busch Series pole of the season and 11th of his career. The Emerson Radio 250 will be the 15th Busch Series race of the season for the Las Vegas native. Kyle currently sits in 22nd position in Busch Series Championship standings.
